Keryn Seal, welcome to the team

This week, we are excited to welcome a new member to the Serbus team, Keryn Seal.

Working remotely from his home HQ in Exeter, Keryn joins us in a hybrid role that will combine existing account management, new business enquiries, partnership channels, and marketing. He will play a key part in Serbus growth and help us to, in his words, “spread the good word of secure communications.”

A veteran of 2 Paralympic Games, 3 World Cups and 7 European Championships representing England and Great Britain 127 times in blind football, along with a more recent background in outsourced sales account management, we’re excited for Keryn to bring his invaluable skills in communication to the team.

We sat down* for 3 quick questions, to get a better introduction to the new man on the scene.

Keryn welcome, we’re thrilled to have you on the team. We’d love to know what drew you most to working with Serbus?

“Thanks, great to be here! I think for me first and foremost it was the belief in the products. My previous experience working as the outsourced sales and account manger for Serbus highlighted just how valuable and necessary secure mobile is in the enterprise space. It was that, coupled with the flexibility to work from home and with people (Seb, Russ and Jon), who shared similar backgrounds and beliefs in life and business.”

Who’s a really good role model to you and why?

“I’ve got a few people I’d like to mention who have been personal role models in my career after sport.

My good friend Richard Carpenter is somebody who has shown me the value in doing business in the right way, in how to build relationships that help everyone, and how to have a go at everything you can. Richard was a huge part of the limited company we set up together and I remain very thankful to him for all the things he has taught me.

Marco Alfano-Rogers was first a huge role model and later a close friend. He has always inspired me to find that balance between being ultra focused and having fun in the work environment. He’s set high standards in all areas of sales and team management that I’ve always strived to try and match.

As a sportsman that now works in business the ultimate role model I currently have is Arnold Schwarzenegger. Somebody that made himself one of the best in his field in acting and politics, as well as the greatest ever bodybuilder in history, while running several flourishing businesses. HE did this all after teaching himself English and business while still competing, and at the same time having tonnes of fun and having a go at everything life had to offer. For me, his attitude is one I admire and respect.”

Lastly, what’s your favourite feature of Serbus Secure?

“Oooh, that’s a difficult one. I have to say, I’m a big fan of the more James Bond-y stuff, like the Mobile Threat Defence. I like the idea of a product with an extra label of self-defence that can protect and secure your phone against any malicious attacks, be it through another device or Bluetooth, and wherever you are in the world”

Is there anything you’d like to say before we get you to work?

“Sure. If anyone reading this is looking for a solution like, or are interested in learning more about, Serbus Secure, I’m your man and please do get in touch. I’d be happy to answer any questions or have a chat; equally if you’ve got a great product that you think could work well with Serbus, let’s talk partner opportunities.”
